The Presidential Awards for Scientific Publications organized by the National Research Council (NRC) under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research was held at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo on 26.08.2019 under the patronage of His Excellency the President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and with the participation of Hon. Minister of Science, Technology and Research, Mr. Sujeewa Senasinghe.

The Presidential Awards for Scientific Publications organized by the National Research Council (NRC) under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research was held at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo on 26.09.2011 under the patronage of His Excellency the President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and with the participation of Hon. Minister of Science, Technology and Research, Mr. Sujeewa Senasinghe.

The National Research Council is one of the leading institutions in the area of ​​research by providing scientific and research assistance to scientists, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge. This research aid is awarded to researchers who are involved in high quality research. The National Research Council also provides funding for multidisciplinary research aimed at addressing nationally important topics in the form of joint ventures between the private and public sectors that conduct research to strengthen the national economy.

The National Research Council has initiated the Presidential Awards Program for Scientific Publications of Scientists to promote them in reaching High Quality Research. More than 240 researchers from the medical, agricultural and engineering sectors were awarded at the 12th awards ceremony, 2019.Present at the awards ceremony were Mr. Chinthaka Lokuhetti, Secretary to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research, Prof. Janaka de Silva, Chairman of the National Research Council and Ms. Maneesha Rajapaksa, Chief Executive Officer of NRC.
