According to the defense sources, investigations have revealed that new explosives have been used for the suicide bomb attacks in several parts of the country by terrorists on April 21, 2019.

The Ministry of Science Technology and Research has come forward to strengthen the country's security by assist in developing a new methodology to detect such new explosives.

For this purpose, the technical assistance from the United States of America will also be obtained. The first discussion on this was already held and the second discussion on the next step was held at the Ministry on 23.05.2019 under the patronage of Hon. Minister of Science Technology and Research, Mr. Sujeewa Senasinghe.
