The south Asian Workshop on detector technologies and applications of High-Energy physics instrumentation, organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology & Research and the European organization for Nuclear Research, in collaboration with the Universities of Ruhuna and Colombo, was inaugurated today (20th) at the BMICH, under the patronage of Sujeewa Senasinghe, Hon. Minster of Science, Technology & Research.

Under the agreement for cooperation on Scientific and Technical cooperation in High - Energy Physics, signed by the Government of Sri Lanka and European organization for Nuclear Research, in 2017, both parties are in the process on implementing programmes for the exchange of knowledge on high energy physics. This workshop, being conducted under this initiative, has been organized specially, targeting the south Asian region. The main objective of the workshop is to increase opportunities for Modern Scientific Research on high energy Physics for Scientist in the South Asian region.
